Connected Society Innovation Fund

Welcome to the GSMA Connected Society Innovation Fund for Rural Connectivity.

The GSMA Connected Society programme works with the mobile industry and key stakeholders to increase access to and adoption of the mobile internet, focusing on under-served population groups in developing markets.

The Connected Society Innovation Fund for Rural Connectivity (‘the Fund’) aims to support innovative mobile internet connectivity solutions for unconnected rural communities. Funded projects will test innovations that overcome the barriers currently preventing mobile network operators (MNOs) from deploying mobile internet coverage in rural areas.

This fund is available for applications interested in proposing innovative commercially sustainable and scalable mobile internet coverage solutions in Ghana or Uganda. These will be solutions that can connect with the core network of one of the partner MNOs working with the GSMA. Before applying, you must check your eligibility on the Term Sheet.

If you are eligible and interested in applying, please submit an expression of interest on the application portal. The application portal will close at 18.00 BST on Sunday, 21 October 2018. Applications cannot be submitted after this time. Please note that any applications that are incomplete after the submission deadline will be considered ineligible.

Should you have any outstanding questions that are not addressed by the term sheet, please email
