Network Slicing

Network Slicing is earmarked to be a prominent feature of 5G to enjoy connectivity and data processing tailored to customers’ specific requirements. Mobile communications provided by such smart networks will enhance the efficiency and productivity of business processes and will open the opportunity for operators to address the Business to Business segment more effectively.

The GSMA sets out to understand the service requirements expressed by business customers from different vertical industries in several key sectors including energy, IoT, automotive, manufacturing and many more. Further to that, the GSMA will work with operators and vendors to define a Generic Slice Template (GST) to facilitate operators sign the Service Level Agreement (SLA) with verticals and enable interoperability and roaming.
