GSMA and CHI Workshop on Online Safety for Children (May 2016 Highlight Video)
On 20 May 2016, the GSMA and Child Helpline International (CHI) hosted a multistakeholder workshop at the GSMA’s London office, focusing on promoting the safe and responsible use of digital services by children and young people. Drawing on the expertise and range of perspectives in the room, the workshop explored the issues that young people may encounter in their digital lives, such as cyberbullying, inappropriate content and sexual exploitation. The event also kickstarted the development of high-level guidance for child helplines to support children when they reach out with questions or problems relating to internet safety.
